GLASS AND HARDWARE MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES
GLASS: Neglected glass will accumulate water spots, which will eventually turn into mineral deposits.
The best way to keep the glass clean is to squeegee the glass after each shower. Self-applied surface protectants and glass cleaners may be harmful to your tile, stone, marble and grout, so check with the manufacturer of these materials regarding chemicals.
Occassional use of a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser removes any soap and mineral buildup that may occur. However, if you have a manufacturer-applied surface protectant, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is not listed as one of the approved cleaners, so it is not recommended.
To eliminate streaking, use water and a cloth for general glass cleaning.
DO NOT USE ANY KIND OF ABRASIVE CLEANERS OR PADS ON THE GLASS.
HARDWARE: Preventative maintenance will enhance the beauty and functionality of your door hardware.
If the pre-greased hinges should begin squeaking over time, use a drop or two of 3 In 1 Oil. DO NOT USE LUBRICATING SPRAYS, such as WD40.
Never use abrasive cleaners on the hardware. Many of the components are coated with clear lacquer and abrasives will irreparably damage it.
Drying the hardware with a clean, soft towel on a daily basis is the best way to maintain it.
If mineral deposits form, mix a couple of drops of a mild liquid soap (Ivory) into a cup of warm water. Clean the hardware using a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Rinse thoroughly with clean warm water and dry.
